Diesel Particulate Filter Removal

What is a DPF or diesel particular filter? Well, the DPF if a device that is designed to remove the "soot" you sometimes see from a diesel engine. Although it is often refered to as "soot" it is actually call "particulate matter"

Any diesel vehicle fitted with this device should not show any evidence of the famous black smoke or indeed any smoke from the engine.

Obviously there comes a time when the container is full or "heavily loaded" and the filter must be cleaned (each car has its own methods) but after so many times it must be replaced, and this can be very expensive. Many cars now with DPF's on them are either free to tax or as low at £15 per year, so if you have bought your car to save money on road fund licence you might be suprised to learn that you could be staring at the business send of £2000 + for a replacement.

Removing this DPF and having a remap will gain you some quote astonishing power figures, figures of 50 or 60 BHP would not be uncommon for a turbo diesel!
